QLD Residential Tenancies Legislation Changes

The Queensland’s Government has made some significant changes to the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008 and Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Regulation 2009.

In order to ensure that you, as a landlord, are familiar with the changes, we will be breaking down the new laws, how they affect you and what you need to do to meet the new legislation in a series of four newsletters.

This first newsletter will address the changes that came into effect in 2021 and the impact of the new laws relating to lease renewals and ending a tenancy, effective from 1 October 2022.
